Romans 8:24-25: “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”
If we trust and believe in God’s Word, there is HOPE. Our hope comes from our faith in Christ Jesus as He has become our Redeemer and Savior from the powers of sin and death; and has given us eternal life through His Father raising Him from the grave. Jesus is Our Hope!
Our hope comes from an expectation that God will deliver us from out of any situation. We do not know when or how He will do it, but we do know that He will do it in His perfect timing.
We are facing an incredible time in our lives as the world grapples with a virus such as COVID-19. It is as if the world has come to a halt, a complete standstill, and life has hit the pause button. Nations are looking to nations as leaders now search earnestly for a solution to this crisis. It seems as if the world is in a tumble and there is so much uncertainty.
But I want to reassure the beloved brethren that God knows and understands. He is the one who has created the times and the seasons, He is the one who has fashioned light to shine in the darkness, and He is the preserver of life. When men are uncertain God knows that is why we place our hope in the Savior Jesus Christ.
Jesus told His disciples in John 14:1, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” Throughout scripture we see how God can show up and deliver the children of Israel, children of God, out of many circumstances. Sometimes we experience moments which seem as if God would never show up, but He does for He knows how to take His people out of tribulation.
So, we who have been bought with the precious blood of Christ have that very same hope that God will deliver us out this pandemic; for what is impossible for man is POSSIBLE with God.
The apostle Paul writes to the Church in Rome in Romans 8:35, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” All power is in Christ’s hands so what we face today does not compare to the hope that we have in the Son of the Most High God, for nothing “shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39).
As we face this time of uncertainty remember that we are to pray for each other, to look out for each other, and be our brother’s keeper. Remember,
Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and His righteous.
Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will provide for itself.
